Part 1: Product Overview

Organic Bentonite is an inorganic mineral/organic ammonium composite. It is produced from high-quality sodium-based bentonite, utilizing the lamellar structure of montmorillonite and its cation exchange capacity. Through ion-exchange technology, organic modifiers (such as quaternary ammonium salts) are intercalated to form a hydrophobic and oleophilic high-end functional product.

Our organic bentonite products are made from selected high-purity sodium-based bentonite, adopting advanced wet purification and organic intercalation processes, with montmorillonite content reaching over 95%. By precisely controlling the type and dosage of organic modifiers, we produce a series of products suitable for organic systems of low, medium and high polarity. The product features hydrophobicity & oleophilicity, high thixotropy, strong thickening property and excellent suspension stability. It can form gels in various organic solvents, oils and liquid resins, making it an indispensable rheological additive for coatings, inks, greases, drilling fluids and other fields.

Core Value of Organic Bentonite

Through organic modification, hydrophilic natural bentonite is converted into a functional material that can swell, disperse and form thixotropic gels in oil-based systems, achieving a performance leap from "hydrophilic" to "oleophilic".

Hydrophobic & Oleophilic, Perfectly Compatible with Oil Systems

After organic intercalation modification, the interlayer of montmorillonite changes from hydrophilic to hydrophobic and oleophilic. It disperses and swells well in organic solvents, oils and resin systems to form a stable gel structure.

Adjustable Viscosity & Strong Adaptability

Using a combined "hydrothermal synthesis–microwave enhancement" technology and intercalation modification with selected long-chain quaternary ammonium salt composite surfactants, we produce a series of products with adjustable viscosity ranging from 300~6500 mPa·s to meet the requirements of low, medium and high polarity systems.

Excellent Thixotropy

It exhibits high viscosity at rest; viscosity decreases rapidly under shear with improved fluidity, and recovers quickly once shearing stops. This property makes coatings easy to apply and prevents sagging after application.

Outstanding Thickening & Anti-settling Effect

It forms a 3D network structure in the system, effectively increasing viscosity, preventing pigment and filler sedimentation, and improving storage stability.

Good Chemical Stability

High temperature resistance, good water resistance and stable chemical properties, maintaining performance in various media.
