By purchasing dried or powdered kaolin clay, you can make your own natural skin cleansers, masks, and scrubs at home. You can also look for pre-made products made with kaolin, or you can add kaolin clay to your favorite cleanser.

To make your own skincare products using kaolin clay, mix the smooth clay with a small amount of water to create a paste that is easier to use. The paste contains tiny crystals that help exfoliate, cleanse, and refresh the skin by binding with oil, impurities, and dead skin cells, which can then be removed.

The amount of water you need to add depends on the size of the kaolin particles and the exact chemicals that may be present in the kaolin clay. Read the instructions carefully to determine the ratio.

Start with a small amount of water and add more as needed. You want to create a thin, paste-like consistency that is thick enough to apply to your skin.

Using on the face-Apply the kaolin clay to damp skin and gently massage it in. Let it absorb into the skin for about 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

In the bath-Add two pounds of kaolin and two pounds of Epsom salt to a warm soaking tub for a therapeutic and relaxing experience for both skin and mind. You can also add essential oils, such as lavender oil, to further promote relaxation and skin health.

In the hair-Made a paste of kaolin and apply it to the scalp and roots. Let it sit on your hair for about five minutes before rinsing and conditioning.

For dental health-Add a small amount of kaolin to your toothpaste to help clean gums and whiten teeth by removing plaque. Be sure not to swallow the clay, then rinse thoroughly.

Using kaolin internally:

Kaolin pectin is taken orally in liquid suspension form and is commonly used to help control diarrhea in adults (but not usually children). It can be taken with or without food.

It is recommended to take it within one to two days of the onset of diarrhea for best results. It usually only needs to be taken for about 24 hours or less.

For adults, the usual dosage is 4 to 8 tablespoons (60 to 120 ml) after each bowel movement. It is most effective when you drink plenty of fluids and eat a non-irritating, bland diet for several days in a row.
